Thursday Travel and Thanks: Baxter-the-Dog and our California Adventures

It’s Thursday! Some thanks, some quotes and a photo from my travels.

Today’s gratitude is for our wonderful labrador retriever, Baxter. The photo is from a drive up the California coast; Highway One.

You ask of my companions.  Hills, sir, and the sundown, and a dog as large as myself that my father bought me.  They are better than human beings, because they know but do not tell.”  ~Emily Dickinson

Highway One, California coastline dog man happiness thankful gratitude quotes
My two favorite “people” at a stop along Highway One as we drove up the California coastline in 2009.

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.”  ~Josh Billings

“You think dogs will not be in heaven?  I tell you, they will be there long before any of us.”  ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Thanks to The Quote Garden for today’s quotes.

  1. Marla, I believe I just saw Jesse Waters interview Bishoy on an LA feature during tonight’s Bill O’Reilly. They had a picture of him in the pen!

  2. I once heard a psychologist note that dogs know how important greetings are – when you come home your spouse and children may not acknowledge your return, but the dog always comes to greet you, sniff you, and welcome you home!

  3. Great quotes, Marla! I was looking at some fun dog quotes and found one from Marilyn Monroe: “Dogs never bite me. Just humans.” How true!

  4. Yea, your dog is ALWAYS happy to see you.
If you like it or don’t matters not !
    😉
