It’s Thursday! Some thanks, some quotes and a photo from my travels.
Today’s gratitude is for our wonderful labrador retriever, Baxter. The photo is from a drive up the California coast; Highway One.
“You ask of my companions. Hills, sir, and the sundown, and a dog as large as myself that my father bought me. They are better than human beings, because they know but do not tell.” ~Emily Dickinson

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.” ~Josh Billings
“You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you, they will be there long before any of us.” ~Robert Louis Stevenson
Thanks to The Quote Garden for today’s quotes.
Love, Marla
I think that our pets are guardian angels sent to look in on us
Marla, I believe I just saw Jesse Waters interview Bishoy on an LA feature during tonight’s Bill O’Reilly. They had a picture of him in the pen!
I once heard a psychologist note that dogs know how important greetings are – when you come home your spouse and children may not acknowledge your return, but the dog always comes to greet you, sniff you, and welcome you home!
As for RLS: Spoken, I’m sure, with his wily and weird mutt, Woggs, in mind. 😉
Also, RLS’s essay: The Character of Dogs: http://www.readbookonline.net/readOnLine/8041/
Great quotes, Marla! I was looking at some fun dog quotes and found one from Marilyn Monroe: “Dogs never bite me. Just humans.” How true!
Always unconditional love……..
Yea, your dog is ALWAYS happy to see you.
If you like it or don’t matters not !
😉
