Birds of Southern Ghana
Did she, or didn’t she? “Traveling MarLa” went in search of one of the world’s most endangered birds: the Yellow-headed picathartes (aka “White-necked rockfowl”). Journeying with bird guides from multiple companies, MarLa returns with photos, video, and (of course) bird calls of some of her new favorite species. We will canoe through a Ramsar wetland, and traverse the treetops of a tropical forest as we explore the country’s diverse winged residents, and visitors. Presentation will include an exhibit of crafts and other items related to birds of southern Africa, along with a Q&A following the talk.
