It was daylight here in Africa when the blood red moon and total lunar eclipse occurred. I was disappointed, because I love to watch special events in the night sky.
Several hours ago, while we were starting our day in South Africa, my friends were out in the night, trying to catch a glimpse of the event over North America.
Unfortunately some friends told me that much of our area back home was under cloud cover, but one posted on Facebook that her family in Arizona had a photo I could share with you:

Bah! We were under cloud cover here in Phila too, and also I couldn’t stay up all night because of my “job” or whatever. But I love the idea of it, and I’m loving the pictures that are coming out.
The very first view of the eclipse was through random cloud cover, but the actual blood moon and it’s peak time were greeted with major cloud cover, rain and winds 🙁
I can’t spell my own last name, but it’s close enough I think!
Not a cloud in site here in south Florida. I had a great view but not a great camera. My iPhone pix just didn’t cut it.
No blood moon for upper Sinktown or Skunk Hollow! Nuttin but clouds and rain!! I think we’re supposed to have another in October, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed for clear skies!
