Cover Art

There is a weekly photo challenge on WordPress to create Cover Art.

Since I’m always imagining cover art for the collection of South Africa essays I’m submitting to indie presses, I already had the photo in mind that I would use. Here is a cover I’ve considered for my work. What do you think?

I took this photograph of sunrise at Olifants Rest Camp in Kruger National Park. It represents many aspects of South Africa that I love and that I speak to in the essays.

Speaking of Cover Art, I actually did already have a photograph published on the cover of a literary journal:

My photo, titled “Pulteney’s Ballad,” for the cover of Fourth River literary journal.

Feel free to click the photo above to read more about it.

Happy Over-the-Hump Day!

Love, Marla

P.S. Remember there’s a Before & After contest going on. You can do something small, like reorganizing your fridge, or something large, like a room. But you WANT to win, because the winner can have a Flat Stanley version made of himself/herself that I will take along for our next adventure. And believe me, you don’t want to miss our next adventure, even if you have to do it as a Flat Stanley!
