Bushbuck in The Kruger

This very pretty, medium-sized antelope is apparently dangerous to hunt. If wounded, he will hide in the bush and impale you with his sharp horns when you come looking for him.

Go, bushbuck!

Of course, I say that, but I also wouldn’t want any hunters I know getting hurt. But the hunters I know practice hard to ensure they only need one shot.

Don’t worry. This bushbuck is alive and kicking, er impaling. And he lives in a protected area. We snapped this photo of him crossing a bridge over the Lower Sabie River in Kruger.

  1. Cool, except for the horns, they really look a lot like whitetails!
